Born in Glendale, California, "Scotty G" always knew he was going to be a pilot. But when he saw Steve Hinton race the RB-51 Red Baron at the Mojave Air Races, he knew why he wanted to be a pilot. "I want to do that!," he told his dad at the age of nine. Since then, Scotty has followed his passion and earned a four year aviation degree and logged over 8,500 flying hours in 90 different types of aircraft. Along the way, he has always sought out flying experience that would transfer to racing: formation flying, aerobatics, low level, and discipline. He is also a member of the Dago Red Unlimited Air Race Team.

Currently a First Officer for America West Airlines, Scotty has checked out in "Unleashed" and is looking forward to racing at Reno 2005. He's already training for low level formation flying and engine emergencies. His goals? Pump up the little plane and beat the Rockets! "Actually, that would be kind of nice," he says. "But my goal is to get through PRS, make the field for 2005, and have a safe race week, make new friends, and begin my racing education."
